The Governor’s Official Program is comprised of a wide range of constitutional and legal duties and ceremonial and community engagements. Each year, the Governor hosts thousands of visitors to Government House to take part in investiture and award ceremonies, Open Days, receptions and meetings, and travels widely throughout Queensland to support the activities of Patron groups. On Thursday, in the morning, at Government House, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC received the Ambassador of Philippines in Australia, Her Excellency Mrs Ma. Hellen Barber de la Vega, First Secretary, Embassy of the Philippines, Ms Ma. Corina a Reyes, and Honorary Consul-General of the Philippines in Queensland, Mrs Margaret Jane Grummitt.

In the afternoon, at St John’s Cathedral, Brisbane City, His Excellency, and Mrs Kaye de Jersey attended the State Funeral for the late Honourable Sir Llew Edwards AC.
Following, at Government House, His Excellency presided, via teleconference, at a meeting of the Executive Council.
