Governor's Program

The Governor’s Official Program is comprised of a wide range of constitutional and legal duties and ceremonial and community engagements. Each year, the Governor hosts thousands of visitors to Government House to take part in investiture and award ceremonies, Open Days, receptions and meetings, and travels widely throughout Queensland to support the activities of Patron groups. On Thursday, in the morning, at Government House, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC greeted members of the public visiting for a guided tour of the House and gardens.

Following, at 1 William Street, Brisbane, His Excellency presided at a meeting of the Executive Council.

In the afternoon, at Government House, His Excellency greeted members of the public visiting for a guided tour of the House and gardens.

In the evening, at Government House, His Excellency and Mrs Kaye de Jersey hosted a dinner in recognition of stakeholders supporting Queenslanders during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Governor addressed guests. Guests included: the Honourable Annastacia Palaszczuk MP and Ms Julia Palaszczuk; the Honourable Dr Steven Miles MP and Mrs Kim McDowell; the Honourable Yvette D'Ath MP; Dr John Wakefield PSM and Mrs Angela Wakefield; Dr Jeannette Young PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo; Deputy Commissioner Stephan Gollschewski APM and Mrs Rebecca Gollschewski; Assistant Commissioner Mark Wheeler APM and Ms Shelly Coughran; Dr Sonya Bennett and Mr Bruce Bennett; Dr Peter Aitken and Dr Jo-Anna Wong; Mrs Kate Hastings and Mr Bob Hastings APM; and Flight Lieutenant Tim Daelman.
