The Governor’s Official Program is comprised of a wide range of constitutional and legal duties and ceremonial and community engagements. Each year, the Governor hosts thousands of visitors to Government House to take part in investiture and award ceremonies, Open Days, receptions and meetings, and travels widely throughout Queensland to support the activities of Patron groups. On Saturday, in the morning, at the Longreach Civic and Cultural Centre, Longreach, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey hosted Investiture Ceremonies for the following recipients of Australian Honours and Awards announced in The Queen's Birthday 2020 Honours List and the March 2020 Bravery Announcement: Mrs Daphne Rich OAM, and Mr John Waerea BM.
Following, at the Longreach Regional Council Chambers, Longreach, His Excellency was interviewed by the Longreach Leader journalist, Ms Kate Kiernan.
Following, at the Longreach Civic and Cultural Centre, Longreach, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey hosted a morning tea in support of the Longreach community, and the Governor addressed guests.
In the afternoon, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey returned to Government House following official travel to Windorah and Longreach.
