Governor's Program

The Governor’s Official Program is comprised of a wide range of constitutional and legal duties and ceremonial and community engagements. Each year, the Governor hosts thousands of visitors to Government House to take part in investiture and award ceremonies, Open Days, receptions and meetings, and travels widely throughout Queensland to support the activities of Patron groups. On Thursday, in the morning, at Croydon, His Excellency visited Croydon State School, and addressed students and guests and read a book.

Following, at Croydon, His Excellency visited the Croydon Childcare Centre, and read a book. 

Following, at Croydon, His Excellency undertook a tour of the town, and met community members and local business owners. 

In the afternoon, at Croydon Shire Council Chambers, Croydon, His Excellency received a briefing from Croydon Shire Council representatives.

Following, at Croydon Shire Council Chambers, Croydon, His Excellency presided, via teleconference, the meeting of Executive Council. 

Following, at Croydon, His Excellency undertook a tour of the Historical Precinct.

Following, at True Blue Visitors Centre, Croydon, His Excellency hosted an afternoon tea in support of the Croydon community, and addressed guests.

In the evening, at Cattleman's Rest Motor Inn, Grand Secret, His Excellency hosted a dinner in support of the 2021 Charters Towers Regional Government House communities, and addressed guests.
