On Monday, in the morning, at Carpentaria Shire Council Office, Normanton, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD received a briefing from the Mayor, Councillor Jack Bawden and Council representatives.

Following, at Normanton Hospital, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo received a briefing on operations, toured the new facility and met with staff, before visiting Normanton State School for a tour and book reading with students.

The Governor and Professor then enjoyed lunch at Normanton Shire Hall with members of the local community.

In the afternoon, at Karumba State School, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo visited the school, participating in a tour and book reading with students.

Following, at Karumba Primary Health Clinic, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo received a briefing on operations, toured the facility and met with staff.

Following, at Les Wilson Barramundi Discovery Centre, Karumba, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo received a briefing on operations, toured the facility and met with staff, before attending a Reception with community members.

In the evening, at Sunset Tavern, Karumba, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo attended a working dinner with Mayor, Councillor Jack Bawden and Carpentaria Shire Councillors.
