On Thursday, in the morning, at Government House, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM hosted an Investiture Ceremony for the following recipients of Australian Honours and Awards announced in the 2026 Australia Day Honours List and 2025 King’s Birthday Honours List: Ms Toni Dwyer AM; Mr Peter Flynn AM; Ms Rachael Grinham AM; Dr Warren Henry AM; Mr Adrian Pisarski AM; Professor John Rolfe AM; Mr John Western AM; Mr Keith Campbell OAM; Mr Roger Flynn OAM; Ms Ann Potter OAM; Mr Donovan Robertson OAM; Mr Joseph Saina OAM; Mr Travis Schultz OAM; Mr Roy Slade OAM; The late Mr Cornelis Sliedrecht OAM; Mr Kevin Stroud OAM; Mrs Kayla Szumer OAM; Mrs Margaret Taylor OAM; Mr Palanichamy Thevar OAM; Mr Alan Trueman OAM; and Mr Russell Walkington OAM.

Following, at 1 William Street, Her Excellency presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

In the afternoon, at Government House, Her Excellency received Ambassador of Greece, His Excellency Mr Stavros Venizelos and Ms Larisa Tikaidi and Honorary Consul of Greece in Brisbane, Mr George Mastrocostas.

In the evening, at Government House Her Excellency and hosted a dinner in honour of Queenslanders recognised in the 2026 Australia Day Honours List, and the Governor addressed guests.
