On Saturday, in the morning, at Longreach Hospital’s Central West Renal Unit, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM received a briefing on operations, toured the facility and met with staff and patients.

Following, at Main Street, Longreach, Her Excellency, accompanied by Mayor, Longreach Regional Council, Councillor Tony Rayner, visited local businesses and met with community members. 

In the afternoon, at the Longreach Showgrounds, Her Excellency attended a lunch hosted by The Outback Queensland Cattle Drive Chairman, Mr Anthony Struss and Operations Manager, Ms Chrissie Nott; BeefBank Chairman, Mr Andrew Rogers, and attended by Longreach Regional Council Mayor, Councillor Tony Rayner and Barcaldine Regional Council Mayor, Councillor Rob Chandler.

In the evening, at Camden Park Station, Longreach, Her Excellency attended the Festival of Outback Opera performance of ‘Singing in the Night’, and the Governor addressed guests.
