On Thursday, in the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD departed Pormpuraaw for Official Travel to Aurukun Shire Council.

At Aurukun Shire Council Chambers, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo received a briefing from the Deputy Mayor, Councillor Craig Koomeeta, and Council representatives.

Following, at 1 William Street, Deputy Governor of Queensland, the Honourable Justice Peter Flanagan, presided at a meeting of the Executive Council. 

Following, at Aurukun State School, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo visited and toured the school, met with staff and students and read a book to students.

Following, at Aurukun Health Service, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo received a briefing on operations, toured the facility and met with staff.

Following, at the Wik and Kugu Arts Centre, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo toured the Centre and met with staff.

Later in the afternoon, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo departed Aurukun for Official Travel to Townsville.

Following, the Honourable Chief Justice Helen Bowskill resumed duty as Deputy Governor of Queensland.
