On Sunday, in the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD departed Cairns Regional Council for Official Travel to Whitsunday Regional Council.

In the afternoon, at Lion’s Lookout, Shute Harbour, Her Excellency, accompanied by Professor Nimmo, officially unveiled a memorial honouring the four Australian Army aircrew who lost their lives aboard the MRH-90 Taipan helicopter, callsign 'BUSHMAN 83', during Exercise Talisman Sabre in July 2023.

Following, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo departed Whitsunday Regional Council for Official Travel to Isaac Regional Council.

In the evening, at the Isaac Events Centre, Moranbah, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo attended a working dinner with Isaac Regional Council, hosted by Mayor, Councillor Kelly Vea Vea and attended by Councillors and members of the Council’s Executive Leadership Team.
