On Friday, in the morning, at the Queensland Police Memorial, Brisbane, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD attended the National Police Remembrance Day Memorial Service and laid the first wreath. 

In the afternoon, at Sofitel Brisbane Central, Brisbane, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo attended the launch of the QIMR Berghofer Don McManus Tropical Health Research Centre, and the Governor addressed guests.
