On Wednesday, in the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD departed Georgetown for Carpentaria Shire Council.
Following, at Normanton Hospital, Her Excellency, accompanied by Professor Nimmo, officially opened the Hospital and addressed guests.
Following, at Government House, members of the public visited for a guided tour of the House and gardens.
Following, at Carpentaria Shire Council Chambers, Normanton, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo received, Mayor, Carpentaria Shire Council, Councillor Jack Bawden for a working lunch.
In the afternoon, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo departed Normanton for Croydon Shire Council.
Following, at Croydon State School, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo toured the school, met with students and staff, and read a book to students.
Following, at Croydon Primary Health Centre, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo received a briefing on operations, toured the facility and met with staff.
Following, at Croydon True Blue Visitor Information Centre and Heritage Precinct, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo toured the facility and met with volunteers and staff.
Following, at the Chinese Memorial Historic Site, Croydon, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo attended a Reception with members of the community, and the Governor addressed guests.
Following, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo departed Croydon for Cairns Regional Council.
