On Friday, in the afternoon, at Government House, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM received the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, the Honourable Curtis Pitt MP; Clerk of the Parliament, Mr Neil Laurie and Sergeant-at-Arms, Mr Michael Watkin, for the presentation of three Bills and two Appropriation Bills for Royal Assent.

In the evening, at South Bank Parklands, South Brisbane, Her Excellency and Professor Grame Nimmo RFD attended the Brisbane Festival's Opening Night and the Governor addressed guests. Followed by attending the Jean Paul Gaultier’s Fashion Freak Show at South Bank.
