Brisbane Open House 2025

Government House is a unique combination of private residence, busy office, public symbol of the State’s prestige, guardian of important traditions, and proud protector of the State’s history and heritage.
The home and workplace of Queensland Governors since 1910, Government House is an important Queensland landmark steeped in historical, cultural and environmental significance.
Visit Government House on Saturday 19 July and discover more about this significant piece of Brisbane’s heritage.
Although this is a free event, bookings are essential to secure your preferred tour times, with both House and Garden Tours available.
Access to the estate is via Gate B on Fernberg Road. Parking is available on Fernberg Road and surrounding streets.
Gates open at 11am and the Open House Day concludes at 3pm.

House and Garden tours will be conducted throughout the day as per the schedule below:
House Tours
- Depart every 15 minutes, between 11.15am - 2.15pm, from the Lower House Lawn
- 45 minutes duration
- Wheelchair and pram accessible
Garden Tours
- Depart on the hour from Her Majesty The Queen's statue, at 11.15am, 12.15pm, 1.15pm and 2.15pm
- 45 minutes duration
- These tours involve extensive walking and demand a moderate level of fitness. Unfortunately these tours are not wheelchair accessible.
- Comfortable shoes, sunscreen and a hat are highly recommended.
