Celebrate QLD Day at Government House

Come and celebrate Queensland Day at Government House — a rare opportunity to explore one of the State’s most significant and beautiful public places.
Queenslanders are warmly invited to come along with family and friends on Saturday 6 June 2026, 11am–3pm, to enjoy a day out in the historic surrounds of the House, with several areas of the Fernberg Estate opened to the public.
This includes the extensive network of bushland walking tracks, opened last year by Her Excellency as a legacy project of her term, serving as a haven for native wildlife and flora.
Celebrate the Ekka

Across the estate, there will be activities, displays and experiences for all ages. Patronage organisations of the Governor will be onsite, including the Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland, bringing a flavour of the Ekka to Government House in its 150th year.
Food vans will be available, or visitors are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy the lawns, with live music also on offer throughout the day.
History of Queensland on Display
A highlight of the day will be a special public display of the Letters Patent, the historic constitutional documents establishing the office of Governor in Queensland. This display offers a unique insight into the State’s governance history and the enduring role of the Governor.
At 12pm, visitors are invited to attend a special Queensland Day Ceremony, recognising the significance of the day and celebrating the people and spirit of Queensland.
