Highlights from Investiture Ceremony Week
During one week in September, Queenslanders from across the state gathered at Fernberg to receive Australian Honours and Awards from the Governor. Across seven Investiture Ceremonies, recipients were recognised for service and achievement in fields as diverse as medicine, engineering, agriculture, the arts, defence, emergency services and community volunteering. Four Bills granted Royal Assent
The Governor received the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, the Honourable Patrick Weir MP, Clerk of the Parliament, Mr Neil Laurie and Deputy Sergeant-at-Arms, Mr Phil Flaherty, at Government House for the presentation of four Bills, to which she granted Royal Assent.
